Code X Discovery pleasantly surprised me. It is a fantastic combination of science fiction, drama, and thriller. Code X Discovery really makes you question current events as well. Such as what secrets is the government hiding from us. But back to the book! Michael Vallone does a great job setting the scene. I was both engaged and hanging off the edge of my seat within the first few pages. Follow Vicki who is the youngest dr to receive a Nobel prize and her fiancé Parks on an adventure to uncovering many truths meanwhile putting their lives in danger. You really feel connected to the characters and find yourselves rooting for their success. Must read!Product details

** spoiler alert ** This would make an excellent movie. It was a great read up and until near the end when the aliens got involved. Why did that happen? It didn't really add to the story and just bordered on ridiculous. I say lose the aliens and make a movie. It was fast paced, the characters were interesting and the concept solid-fans of Michael Chriton would like this (except for the aliens).

I’ve always been a diehard fan of the thriller genre and have recently found that the sci-fi genre is starting to grow on me, so I couldn’t resist going into this book with intrigue and, admittedly, high expectations. That being said, I can say that author Michael Vallone has more than met my expectations and left me very satisfied with the read.
The author blends the defining elements of each genre together near-perfectly and the end result is a read that is unique, interesting, and above all, well-written. I must also comment on the characters, especially Dr. Collins, they are put together excellently and their dialogue between each other flows in a realistic manner. I recommend this to readers looking for a new spin on the genres that is fresh and entertaining.
